I’ve learned from each piece, progressively, and Sketch #7 is no exception. To compare this one with Bloomfield Cows, I feel as though I’ve advanced my technique pertaining to trees and atmospheric details. I’ve begun to split the areas of black and white much more seamlessly, and the line quality and stroke have become smoother too, most notably in the watery foreground.
You can see here beneath the shadow of my hand and arms, how loose the under sketching actually is. My job, once I turn the projector off, is to erase those lines by definitively designating the shades on either side of that line as white, or black.
I give you, Sketch 7: Bay of Las Crucesitas… Cheers, and thanks for reading.
